Sports Car Engineering

The Engineering team is comprised of; Engineering Operations heading up the PMO, PBO and PLM areas, our Propulsion & Electrical department, the Body Trim Chassis & CAE department, Vehicle Engineering which focuses on Test and Dynamics, and the Vehicle Integration department.

Based from our offices in both Hethel, Norfolk and the Midlands the Engineering team is made up of over 500 employees. Headed by our Executive Director for Engineering, the department works hard to ensure that all Lotus products deliver exceptional performance to our customers whilst remaining true to the Lotus light weighting ethos.

What we do

From early concepts through to launch and delivery of the final vehicle, the Engineering team is fundamental to the future of Lotus cars.

Lotus Engineering are committed to driving forward technology with precision and passion. We continue to spearhead research into advanced powertrain design, lightweight materials, and ride & handling optimisation.

The DNA of any Lotus car has always been expressed through three core competencies; exceptional chassis and vehicle dynamics, lightweight design, and overall aerodynamic efficiency. Every Lotus must have these.

What we look for

We are a diverse lot in the Engineering department but questioning nature and a passion for knowledge is readily welcomed, and encouraged!

Detail oriented, analytical, bold, we look for those who have an innate desire to improve that which exists and dare to dream that which does not. Many of our team join us as juniors or graduates and are offered the support and training to develop into senior members of the Lotus team.
