As we continue to elevate our capabilities and global presence, we are seeking a Head of Tax to join our dynamic Finance team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hethel.
Summary:
Lotus is embarking on an exciting transformation journey, and taxation plays a critical role in supporting sustainable growth, governance, and strategic decision-making. As Head of Tax, you will lead the development and execution of Lotus's tax strategy, ensuring robust compliance, effective risk management, and tax-efficient business operations across the Group.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of tax at Lotus. You will build and develop the tax function, establish best-in-class governance frameworks, and influence strategic business decisions across multiple entities, including LAT, LTIL, LGIL and LCL. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be a trusted advisor on all tax-related matters and play a key role in supporting the organisation's long-term ambitions.
What You'll Be Doing
As Head of Tax, you will:
Lead the development, review and implementation of the Group Tax Strategy, Tax Policy and wider tax governance framework.
Establish and maintain tax governance processes, including tax frameworks, risk matrices and supporting documentation.
Review and enhance tax controls within accounting and financial systems.
Prepare and oversee tax accounting disclosures and Group reporting obligations.
Drive tax planning initiatives while ensuring full compliance with applicable legislation and Group policies.
Identify and implement tax-efficient structures and opportunities to support current and future business activities.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate their impact across the business, ensuring effective implementation where required.
Act as the primary point of contact for HMRC and equivalent tax authorities across all operating regions.
Ensure all tax returns and submissions are completed accurately and on time, maintaining Lotus's reputation as a trusted and compliant organisation.
Develop and maintain the Group Tax Risk Register, including associated controls, processes and documentation.
Map tax responsibilities across the organisation and ensure clear ownership and accountability.
Support the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) regime and ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Lead and develop the tax function, creating a high-performing team capable of supporting the evolving needs of the business.
What You'll Bring
Essential
Professional accountancy or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
Strong in-house corporate tax experience covering areas such as Corporation Tax, VAT and Employment Taxes (PAYE).
Deep understanding of tax compliance, governance and risk management.
Experience preparing tax accounting disclosures and supporting financial reporting requirements.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into practical business solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
Proven ability to drive change, improve processes and embed effective controls.
Desirable
Advanced technical tax qualification or postgraduate qualification.
Experience operating within a multinational or complex corporate environment.
Experience building or transforming a tax function.
