Accounts Payable Manager

Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Accounts Payable Manager in the Finance department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
The AP Manager will take overall ownership of the Accounts Payable function by closely managing the AP team and ensuring all daily, weekly, and monthly objectives are achieved efficiently and accurately. This role will play a critical part in process improvement, system implementation, supplier relationship management, and team leadership to ensure timely and accurate payments, strong financial controls, and KPI achievement.
What you'll do:
Accounts Payable Operations:
- Oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reporting produced by the AP Senior.
- Conduct regular Supplier Statement reconciliation reviews and ensure monthly statistics are accurate for team and individual performance.
- Manage biweekly aged creditors report downloads and macro processes, distributing and reviewing with the AP team.
- Analyse the weekly Unapproved Invoice report, identify trends and root causes, and drive resolution.
- Monitor monthly SUPOA (Supplier Purchase Order Approval) reports to track invoice approval progress.
- Sign off Concur top-up spends to ensure payment runs are processed on schedule.
- Ensure the AP team adheres to the AP Weekly work structure, prioritizing tasks while maintaining accuracy and high-quality standards.
- Set and monitor monthly targets for invoice processing, unprocessed invoices, and total value of unapproved invoices, reporting actuals against targets.
- Manage the Aged Proforma progress monthly, reviewing and tracking outstanding items.
- Review and track progress of the weekly Aged Unapproved Reports.
- Collaborate with purchasing to resolve invoice matching and PO issues.
- Ensure correct query types and notes are recorded for all unapproved invoices with regular updates.
- Review supplier terms and classification from the month-end creditor reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Reporting & Controls:
- Provide the monthly management report slide for the AP ledger and performance metrics at month-end.
- Approve monthly debit/credit balance reversing journals processed by the AP team.
- Review monthly control balance sheet reconciliations conducted by the AP team.
- Ensure all checks, controls, and reconciliations are completed prior to closing and reopening the AP ledger each month.
- Ensure all AP month-end reporting deadlines are met consistently.
Team Management & Development:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the AP team, including resource planning, workload distribution, and performance management.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, development reviews, and manage holiday/sickness cover.
- Measure team efficiency and effectiveness in line with agreed objectives, KPIs, and SLAs.
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Coordinate the implementation of new systems (e.g. SAP) across the AP ledger.
- Oversee data and transaction cleansing from legacy systems prior to migration.
- Support operational systems, process improvements, and policy development to enhance AP performance and control.
Projects & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead and support special projects and initiatives within the AP function (e.g. Display Stock, Procure-to-Pay BPM).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support the broader finance and procurement strategies.

- We work hybrid, meaning you will be in the office when necessary and you can work from home when you're needed there, our finance team are required ion the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

- This role will be working from our Hethel plant within our flexible working policy
