Lotus Cars is expanding its legal team and invites skilled professionals to apply for the role of Senior Legal Counsel. This opportunity is perfect for individuals seeking to contribute to a fast-paced and pioneering environment. Your legal expertise will be instrumental in navigating the intricacies of the automotive industry, supporting our commitment to innovation, and ensuring our compliance with global standards.

This role is temporary on-going, and could potentially lead to longer term work - we are looking for someone who can start immediately (or asap) 

Role Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support across all areas of our business, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. This role will involve working closely with departments such as manufacturing, sales, and human resources to provide strategic legal guidance that aligns with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and litigation management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-stakes contracts and agreements to safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current with legal trends and legislation changes to ensure proactive compliance.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary and manage relationships with external legal counsel.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive experience in corporate and commercial law, ideally with a focus on the automotive industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal challenges.
  • Proven track record of negotiation skills with a pragmatic and business-focused approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
