Safety, Health and Environment Advisor

Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor in the Human Resources Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
To support the department in the implementation and maintenance of SH&E management systems, and implementation of the SHE and Wellbeing strategy.
What you'll do:
- Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems, and achievement of recognised certifications.
- Supporting Management and Supervision in improving performance and engagement.
- Assisting in accident and incident investigations.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining a thorough internal audit program.
- Liaise with contractors and other external bodies.
- Oversee the risk assessment process and safety inspection programme, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged.
- Support the Occupational Health function by assisting with basic health surveillance and administration (training can be provided).
- Supporting the provision and delivery of SH&E related training.
- Support for LTIL as required, in line with service agreement.
What you'll bring:
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- IOSH Membership (TechIOSH).
- Previous experience of training delivery.
- Experience with external audit programmes – ISO14001, ISO45001, or similar.
- Policy development and implementation. Safety programme development and implementation (improvement projects, risk assessment programmes, inspections etc.)
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Analytical, structured, confident, with good communication skills. Must be able to work alone and as part of a small team.
- Able to engage all levels of the business, from shop floor to Executives.
- The role would suit someone with ambition and desire to develop.
Desirable
- Environmental Management Certificate (NEBOSH / IEMA)
- IEMA Membership.
- Occupational Health experience.
- Internal Auditing experience.
- CDM experience.
- Experience with SHE management in different countries. Policy development and stakeholder engagement in other regions.
- Automotive or engineering experience would be advantageous.
- Experience in managing budgets and suppliers.

Additional Information:
- This role will be working from our Hethel plant.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in UK without VISA sponsorship.
- Office based, but with regular and prolonged periods within the factory and workshops supporting staff. Working within a small team.
- Travel to other UK sites will be required occasionally. No more than once / twice a week on average. Occasional travel to other Norwich sites as required. Team responsibility to support global locations, so some travel may be required to Europe, US.
