Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a site based Occupational Health Advisor to join our SHE team. This is an excellent opportunity to add real value to the Lotus business, by assisting our workforce in working safely and efficiently, minimising sickness absence, and promoting good physical and mental health, fitness, and overall wellbeing.
What you'll do:
- Managing and coordinating the Occupational Health services and working with our Occupational Health Technician.
- Provide employment health screening service to assess the capabilities of employees to perform the work, and give advice on reasonable adjustments to the job design, with reference to the Equality Act 2010.
- All aspects of Occupational Health case management including return to work programmes, workplace adjustments and liaising/referral to Occupational Health physician.
- Ensure Health Surveillance Programme is completed with adequate controls of hazards.
- Provide clinical support and guidance to all stakeholders in all aspects of fitness for work.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records using information technology to enable trends in injuries and illnesses to be identified and analysed, and to assist in the evaluation of control measures.
- Produce reports from appropriate data to aid business KPI’s including monitoring sickness absence, trends and case management interventions.
- To signpost a confidential counselling service, EAP and Lotus MHFA’s for employees with concerns re workplace or home issues.
- Provide a proactive health promotion service to encourage employees to make informed decisions about their lifestyle, fitness and health.
- Support HR with Attendance Management, capabilities and reasonable adjustments.
- Maintain Occupational Health knowledge and competence through continuous professional development.
What you'll bring:
Essential
- RGN
- Occupational Health Diploma or Degree
- Experience in Occupational Health setting
- You will have experience of general health risk assessments & knowledge and understanding of associated legislation.
- You will have knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act 2010.
- PC skills including Microsoft Office
- 2 Years experience post Occupational Health qualification
- Exceptional communication skills allowing for effective communication with people at all levels within the business, as well as with external services.
- Ability to work with integrity, trust and absolute confidentiality.
- Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to recognise personal medical limitations & when to refer to the Occupational Health Physician.
Desirable
- Experienced in Manufacturing sector
- Experience of Meddbase (or similar OH software)
- Pragmatic and resourceful
- Awareness of ergonomics and human factors

Additional Information:
- This role will be working from our Hethel plant within our flexible working policy.
- Dedicated office location. Working as part of the OH and wider SHE Team.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in UK without VISA sponsorship.
- Access to regular Clinical Supervision will be provided.
- Regular travel to other Norfolk locations with infrequent requirement to support Midlands and London based sites. Most of the latter’s needs are met virtually.
