DevOps Engineer
Lotus Cars builds world-class, high-performance and lightweight sports cars that are sold all around the world.
Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer in the IT Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract, you will be integral to supporting a critical new build within our organisation. Your primary focus will be to streamline the software development lifecycle by bridging the gap between development and operations. You will ensure the seamless delivery and integration of applications through automation, efficient coding practices, and collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams. This project-driven role requires you to accelerate deployment cycles, enhance system reliability, and optimise the performance of our new technology solutions, ensuring they meet the high standards required for the successful launch of the new build.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software for the new build.
- Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate and deploy full-stack applications, primarily using React for front-end and SQL for back-end, within the project timelines.
- Utilise TypeScript to enhance application scalability and maintainability, ensuring that the new build is robust and future-proof.
- Work with C#, .NET, Node.js, and Express to develop and deploy robust back-end services as part of the new build.
- Implement and manage infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability, aligned with the needs of the new build.
- Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual intervention and increase system efficiency, particularly focusing on the requirements of the new build.
- Collaborate with UI designers, business analysts, and key stakeholders to align development goals with the objectives of the new build project.
- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to minimise downtime during the critical phases of the new build.

- Business Analysts/Project & Programme Managers/Systems Managers: Collaborate to ensure that technical solutions meet business requirements and project timelines, particularly for the new build.
- Customers: Business Process Owners: Engage to understand business needs and ensure that applications deliver value, with a focus on the new build.
- IT Colleagues & Fellow Developers: Collaborate to share knowledge, solve problems, and deliver high-quality software, contributing to the success of the new build.
- UI Designers, Business & Systems Analysts: Work closely to integrate design, business requirements, and technical solutions in the context of the new build.

- Strong innovation – Lotus custom built software applications will provide Lotus the ability to be different and deliver USP.
- Explaining technical processes and functions to non-technical colleagues
- Influencing colleagues to use the applications in the most efficient manner

What you'll bring:
- Proficient in front-end development using React and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of back-end development with SQL, C#, and .NET.
- Experience with Node.js and Express for back-end services.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core for building modern web applications.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with serverless computing and associated technologies.
- Exposure to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
