Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Test Cells Technician  in the Engine & Propulsion Systems Integration Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.

Summary:

The role involves working as part of the team to deliver the ICE and EV build and testing, in line with internal and third party projects.

Within the Propulsion Facilities we have engine dynamometers, EV test (loaded) and spin rigs, battery emulators, rig facilities, vehicle battery build, engine build, and workshops.

What You'll Do:

Supervise apprentices and trainees.
Functional operating of engine control systems.
Operation of engine dynamometer and component rig testing.
Engine/ Transmission/ Electric Drive Unit (EDU) prototype build and instrumentation.
Engine/ Transmission/ EDU post test strip down and inspection. 

What You'll Bring:

• Knowledge of internal combustion engines.
• The ability to carry out various tasks relating to this subject matter, examples: engine build and post test engine strip inspections.
• Able to follow instructions, procedures and also work under your own initiative.
• BTEC National or equivalent in mechanical , electrical or electronics engineering.
• City & Guilds qualifications.
