Compliance Lead Engineer

Lotus Cars Limited is the manufacturing site of Lotus in the UK. Here we produce all sportscars types such as the Emira and the Evija. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Compliance Lead Engineer in the Quality Department to join us in our manufacturing plant based in Hethel.
Summary:
This role is crucial to deliver class leading issue resolution to the Lotus business. COP Lead Engineer, you will lead a dynamic team of technical professionals, to ensure Conformity of Production (COP) compliance and accurate reporting internally to management and externally to authorities in the China market. CoP is a key role in ensuring a vehicle complies with market technical legislation and legal obligations as a manufactured product.
What you'll do:
The experience is unique in being cross functional both internally and externally, highly technical and requires accurate work to achieve the requirements. The aspects of the role will promote an understanding of the whole vehicle and provide opportunities to examine and interpret complex data sets to enable the business to accurately target quality and manufacturing improvement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver and maintain ongoing Conformity of Production compliance for predominantly China market but others if required.
- Create and maintain Conformity of Production Control plans covering China markets, ensuring compliance with China Type Approval and RRR (Recycle, Reuse, Recover) requirements.
- Liaise with China Homologation/Type approval team to ensure our control plan and test requirements are up to date and revise if necessary.
- Compile and distribute annual reports confirming COP compliance and results
- Carryout and document COP audits to demonstrate compliance
- Raise Conformity of Production non-conformances as necessary.
- Organise and control the preparation of vehicles requiring Conformity of Production testing i.e. emissions & drive by noise
- Coordinate and supervise all testing activities (on and offsite) defined in the Conformity of Production Control Plan
- Ensure critical component suppliers as identified in the control plan meet Conformity of Production and RRR requirements and that detailed records are kept and maintained to demonstrate compliance.
- Ensure suitable records are kept, reports are issued and company documentation relating to Conformity of Production and RRR is up to date and suitably distributed
- Support external Conformity of Production authorities (CCC) during on site audits, reporting findings and non conformance closure in order to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensure Lotus Cars projects deliver COP & RRR requirements and provide advice to other departments to achieve initial COP & RRR compliance
- Lead a team to conduct manufacturing process audits to ensure ongoing compliance
- Understand and create budget and resource plans for testing cost
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Chinese COP/Type approval/Homologation knowledge
- Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams within the automotive manufacturing sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering and quality in the automotive sector.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with Senior LPIS Engineers and Issue Coordinators, production teams, quality assurance, and other relevant departments.
- Proficiency in using Issue Management Systems and related software.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and production processes in the automotive sector.

- This role will be working from our Hethel plant within our flexible working policy
