Opportunities across our business

IT

Our IT function is diverse – providing technology solutions to all functional areas of Lotus (eg HR/SHE/Commercial/Finance/SupplyChain/Manufacturing/Engineering). It would be expected that this role will rotate through the IT organisation and include working with Support engineers that are providing Cax (as an example) as well as product lifecycle enterprise solutions primarily enabling the engineering and design functions. The role would also cover the IT PMO support and potentially be given a task to document a framework for best practise IT Application lifecycle management. Information Security would also be included in the programme of work as would the potential to work on Business intelligence solutions/Robotic Process Automation/Artificial intelligence

Project Management Office (PMO)

Our PMO function encompasses the whole lifecycle of a vehicle from Product Strategy (including idealisation and specification) through product deliver (VLD + Launch + PBO) and commercialisation of technology and platforms to 3rd parties.

Manufacturing Engineering (Meng)

This team is responsible for both current vehicle production and new model introduction.

New Model

Feeding back learning from previous programmes into new model development (recurrence prevention, design for manufacture, built-in-quality), supporting virtual build activities and raising concerns/developing solutions to prevent future problems, developing processes for new parts/systems, implementation of cost effective tooling, fixturing & equipment, integrating new systems, process layout, process efficiency improvement including yamazumi analysis, leading problem solving activities, processes for vehicle testing development, make v buy analysis, future technology benchmarking, capacity confirmation, process capability studies

Current vehicle

Ensuring processes are maintained, takt change implementation, engineering change implementation, problem solving, improving vehicle processes/tooling/equipment which impact on quality/over-cycle, new vehicle handover, capacity confirmation, data analysis & process capability studies

Engineering

This scheme will look to develop a cohort of high performing Software Engineers who have the technical skills and understand how to deliver programmes at Lotus. Aim is that they will progress up the organisation to Senior and Principle Engineers in their field. The cohort will reduce our reliance on external hires in Software related departments. The scheme will also develop highly competent Mechanical Engineers who will develop their technical expertise and how to deliver programmes at Lotus. Graduates will be deployed into the BICEP they best fit into as part of their second year and permanent role in the business. Aim is that the cohort will progress up through the organisation to Senior and Principle Engineers.

Quality

Our Quality department covers all elements of the vehicles’ lifecycle. From initial design concept input with the Perceived Quality team right through to in Field Quality who help to drive warranty issue resolution and obtain crucial customer feedback for all elements of their ownership journey. We are also responsible for the Quality Management systems that ensure we operate within the requirements of ISO:9001:2015 which supports our constant drive to achieve perfection in all areas of the business, not just the product.

The Lotus Quality department is a team of 84 people. A combination of direct Quality support at Hethel and LAS supplemented with support functions who can flex between working locations & WFH as required.

Sales/Aftersales

Our Sales and Aftersales function represents the requirements of the customer and global markets. From product marketing , dealer and market management, development of our own omni-channel direct sales organisation through to global volume planning and realisation.

I have spent time in both Engineering and Commercial departments which has broadened my understanding of the automotive industry. I have been able to closely follow and work on the same projects throughout different areas of the company, see their development from initial concept to the final product, coming to life.
