Lotus Learning Academy welcomes first new recruits

The Lotus Learning Academy (LLA) welcomes the very first colleagues to join the business and go through an onboarding process at the new facility.

There are 11 new General Operatives, five of whom have come from the University Technical College Norfolk. Please welcome to the Lotus family… Greg Piatek, Connor Buxton, Isaac Bennett, Ryan Chambers, Jack Manship, Shane Gardiner, Tommy Lawson and Alex Mortimer to Assembly; Codrin Patrascu to LAS; and Louis Martin and Liam Goddard to Body & Paint.

Each of them has been through a bespoke selection process that pushed their boundaries and gave them an opportunity to showcase their skills and behaviours.

The recruitment process started with phone and video interviews, followed by a face-to-face session that included a set of physical dexterity tests.

The 11 successful candidates started at LLA yesterday doing Lean Training, SHE Awareness and will spend time in the Simulated Work Environment.

The LLA is also providing training and development for current Lotus colleagues. The Team Leader Development Course (TLDC) started in April, and eight have so far been completed with 64 people attending. The TLDC is designed to deliver the specific technical and behavioural training required of a Team Leader within the Operations organisation.

Courses that enable Lotus to develop General Operatives into future Team Leaders are also under way. This helps the business prepare for further growth by having capable people ready to be placed into new roles when they become available.
